The Fosse Way
Old meets new - B4100, M40 and A425
In the next picture we approach a roundabout with the B4100. This road was once the A41. Like the former A34 passed earlier on the journey, the reason it is no longer such an important road is due to a modern-day motorway - the M40. Have a close look at the background of the second photo - behind the sign.
My journey along the Fosse Way ended at the roundabout with the A425 (final photo), but before reaching that we pass under this low railway bridge, situated half way between the M40 and the A425. I did have a look at the map to find the name of the place but didn't actually find one!
I hope you enjoyed our tour of this section of the Fosse Way - an enjoyable drive through great countryside. It's a couple of weeks since I took the photos, and on reflection, I am surprised that there hasn't been more development along the Fosse Way, given that this has been a transport artery for nearly 2,000 years. Well worth a look, I think.
